Insight

Here are some great quotes from my Mission Prep manual that I thought were worth sharing:

"It was meant to be that life would be a challenge.  To suffer some anxiety, some depression, some disappointment, even some failure is normal.  Teach our members that if they have a good, miserable day once in a while, or several in a row, to stand steady and face them  Things will straighten out.  There is great purpose in our struggles in life."
--President Boyd K. Packer (emphasis added.  Obviously)

"Work without vision is drudgery.  Vision without work is dreaming.  Work coupled with vision is destiny."
--President Thomas S. Monson

"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he's been robbed.  Most putts don't drop.  Most beef is tough.  Most children grow up to be just people.  Most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration.  Most jobs are more often dull than otherwise.  Life is like an old-time rail journey--delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed.
...thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."
--Jenkins Lloyd Jones, as quoted by President Gordon B. Hinckley

"Recognize that emotional and physical challenges are alike.  One needs to do all that is possible to improve the situation, then learn to live within the remaining bounds.  God uses challenges that we may grow by conquering them."
--Elder Richard G. Scott
