Summer Lovin'

Let's see...I've had a busy summer.  Want to see what I've been up to? Probably not, but I'm going to put it on here anyways.

This summer, I...

...met two of my BYU basketball idols.  Mr. Charles Abouo and Mr. Jimmer Fredette.

...participated in the LHS Alumni Show and made lots of new friends.  And goofed off with some old friends.

...went hiking and river rafting with two of the best aunts ever.

...went to Lagoon.

...saw Johnny Depp at the Lehi Roundup Rodeo.

...got into BYU's Nursing Program.

...celebrated the independence of our beautiful country at Provo's Stadium of Fire.

...went to a fantastic Titanic exhibit in Las Vegas.  Probably the ONLY fantastic thing in Las Vegas.

...got assured that my brother will be a fantastic missionary.

...saw something taller than me.

...went to Six Flags Magic Mountain.

...went to DA BEACH EACH.  Ahem.  Pardon me.

...paid sufficient homage to the Mouse.  Complete with numerous Tower of Terror trips, World of Color, nearly vomiting on the Tea Cups, fireworks, and several rides on the Matterhorn and California Screamin'.

...went to Sundance wit mah friends.

...WICKED.

...said hello to new friends.

...and said goodbye to old friends.

Overall, I'd say this was the best summer ever.

Lookalike?

Several people have told me that I look somewhat like Emma Stone.

Pretty much I freaked out when they told me that because she's insanely gorgeous. :)

What do you think?

Yeah I'll admit, me trying to be glamorous is quite laughable.  But I do like that Emma Stone has freckles...

Love

They say you're really not somebody until somebody else loves you.

John 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. ♥

This was on Facebook and I loved it a lot.  Thanks David Lee and Marie Nuccitelli.

Hot Loki Is Hot

Mmmmmmmm.  So great.

Funny how all of the Avengers are super hot, but I think Loki is the most attractive one of the movie.
COME ON THOUGH HOW CAN YOU NOT FIND THAT ATTRACTIVE.

Granted, I do love me some Captain America.
Hot hot hot hot hot.  If I can't have Loki, I'd be fine settling for C.A. :)

Insight

Here are some great quotes from my Mission Prep manual that I thought were worth sharing:

"It was meant to be that life would be a challenge.  To suffer some anxiety, some depression, some disappointment, even some failure is normal.  Teach our members that if they have a good, miserable day once in a while, or several in a row, to stand steady and face them  Things will straighten out.  There is great purpose in our struggles in life."
--President Boyd K. Packer (emphasis added.  Obviously)

"Work without vision is drudgery.  Vision without work is dreaming.  Work coupled with vision is destiny."
--President Thomas S. Monson

"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he's been robbed.  Most putts don't drop.  Most beef is tough.  Most children grow up to be just people.  Most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration.  Most jobs are more often dull than otherwise.  Life is like an old-time rail journey--delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed.
...thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."
--Jenkins Lloyd Jones, as quoted by President Gordon B. Hinckley

"Recognize that emotional and physical challenges are alike.  One needs to do all that is possible to improve the situation, then learn to live within the remaining bounds.  God uses challenges that we may grow by conquering them."
--Elder Richard G. Scott

And here is a picture of a Hawaiian flower for your aesthetic pleasure. Oh and I took this mahself.

Homer (not Simpson)

Well, it's official.  I'm a sucker for classical Greek literature.  So far I've read the Iliad, the Odyssey (which is a fantastic book that I highly recommend), the Agamemnon, and the Furies.  They're all so fascinating, and such an eye opener.  Who knew that a culture half way around the world and 2500 years ago could be so different from ours, and yet so similar?  Sorry...I seem to be waxing philosophical (or waxing philo-Sophocles...heheheh), but those are my thoughts.  And that's all I have to say 'bout that.

Be Yourself

Of course...all things in moderation.  If being yourself is a danger to society, please refrain.

Have Some Class

I found this picture and thought that a lot of girls (myself included) need to see it.  So much truth.  Sometimes, I like being slightly feminist.  Other times, I view it as a detriment to women.  Why do we want to be more like men, if we were created as women?  Of course we're strong, independent, and smart, but that doesn't mean we should shun the male species.  They're worth our attention once in a while, and, believe it or not, they can do some things that we can't.  And we can do things that they aren't capable of.  We're different.  That's all there is to it.

I think when I wear this red dress I look classy (and the other girls are quite classy too):

This Will Be The Best Summer Ever

I got a 4.0 my freshman year at BYU.
I got a job today.
I already have a tan, and it's not even June.
All I need is a boyfriend, and this will be the best summer ever.

In other news, at the Lehi Encore concert on Tuesday, this lovely boy sang a part of "One Thing" to me, and it pretty much made my day.  :)
In other other news, I found this picture and thought it summed up my life pretty well.

Proof That God Exists

My grades for my freshman year of college.

Let me assure you, this would not have happened without help from above.

Conflict of Interests

Sometimes, I miss being in stage makeup and costumes, telling a story that isn't mine, but that I'm glad I could share.

Then again, sometimes I wish I could be back in my uniform, winning games for my school and working up a sweat every day.

I guess my personality has a place on both sides of the spectrum.

Megan the Water Bottle

Once upon a time, Alyssa Vargha named her water bottle after me because she missed me dearly.
Pretty attractive water bottle, if you ask me.

Hydrogen Explodes Quite Nicely

My phenomenal Chemistry teacher, Dr. Wood, exploded balloons many times this semester.  I took the Chem 285 final today, and it made me sad, because I absolutely loved that class!  And I was good at it!  One bit of advice...don't take a Human Development final immediately after a Chemistry final...because you won't get a very good score.

Oh well.  All is well, because MY FRESHMAN YEAR IS DONE.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

Sunset

Well, it's nearly the end of my freshman year.  What a great year it has been.

The view outside my dorm at sunset.

Lucky Girl

I'm the luckiest girl in the world, because I have the best friends in the world.  Hands down.  No arguments.  They all love me with no hesitations or exceptions, and we have so much fun together.  Last night we had a farewell party for Mr. Kyle Griffeth, who will be taking a 2-year bicycle trip to Vina del Mar, Chile.  We roasted marshmallows, hot dogs, and watched Hot Rod.  I nearly peed myself because I was laughing so hard.

Max and Austin have attractive shirts.  And hair.  And faces.
Alex and Ryan.  The hottest gingers I know.
My boys Austin and Kyle!  Pretty much if I believed in polygamy I would marry both of them. X)

I don't know what I did to deserve such great guys in my life, but I'm sure glad they're in my life. :)
